Multicolor Contemporary Silk Wool Abstract Area Rug Rishikesh by Joseph Carini
About the Item
This contemporary and dynamic area rug emulates the light dancing off multicolored glass. Rishikesh is an 1890-1910 Parisian moment inspired by abstracting forms like Tiffany’s glass and art nouveau colorations. Mosaics, stained glass, and colors of that period that Joseph Carini absorbed formed into his own fantasy coloration of Rishikesh. Named after one of Joseph Carini’s favorite places in India in the foothills of Himalayas where the Ganges mountains begin.
Warm yellow and orange tones seep from one end, while purples and pinks crawl down from the other. Ultimately, these colors blend and dance together in the center over a dark indigo blue background. The movement and color in this area rug make it a show stopper!
Handwoven in our exclusive workshop in Nepal, this rug is made using the finest Chinese silk and natural hand-spun Himalayan wool available. Available in additional and custom colorways and sizes. Also available in a variety of materials including, silk, wool, mohair, wild nettle, and a combination. Please reach out for customization.
