Tabriz rug cod.319 in hand-knotted wool

About the Item

Tabriz carpet type is one of the most prestigious types of Persian carpets from the city of the same name located in the northwestern region of Iran. The manufacture of Tabriz is known for its sophistication and technical complexity, representing one of the pillars of the Persian textile tradition. The oval shape is not common in traditional Persian carpets, but represents an aesthetic innovation introduced to satisfy modern markets, especially in the West. Typical traditional Persian colors, such as ruby red, dark blue, and accents in lighter shades, which lend elegance and harmony, predominate. The main design is a floral medallion, richly ornamented with symmetrical patterns. Hand knotted wool
