Students of design history may know these patterns are a minimalist reimagining of Turkish, Persian, and similar Oriental provenances with a tribal sensibility—one of the many bold, inventive elements of this movement that recaptured the look of primitivist, old-world Greek Key patterns like those alluded to in this design.
