19th Century Persian Kurdish Bidjar in Allover Pattern in Pale Yellow, Ivory

A 19th century hand woven Persian Bidjar runner has an allover pattern of "variation" on the paisley form which is set on the abrash navy blue/French blue background with pale yellow and red borders. The larger format “paisley” designs are in wonderful colors of pink, yellow, blue, and brown. The Bidjar runner is a wonderful artwork to be displayed as a hallway runner. A vintage Kurdish Bidjar runner in a geometric medallion pattern set on an abrash terracotta red field color from the late 1900s. There are five medallions in the field connected via a line ending in a smaller medallion on each end. The border consists of three narrow borders one in French Blue, the other in brown and the last one in pale yellow or ivory. Interesting and very charming design items include small animal and human forms throughout the field and the borders. The rug is also dated 1329 in the Islamic calendar which corresponds to 1911. A wonderful rug that brings beauty and heritage to any space it is displayed on.
