Antique Circa 1920 Distressed Overdyed Kerman Hand Knotted Rug 11'3 X 19'. This is a fine example of an Overdyed area rug. These rugs demonstrate a process best described as 'The modern palette applied to classics'. It consists of an added step to the finishing process in which the rug is antique washed, sheared, and finally hand dyed in a full immersion bath of a chosen color. The effect is quite stunning, adding a vibrant overcast to the whole rug and blending seamlessly with the prior dyes. It has a very low pile, this is done deliberately to create the look. The rug has a solid foundation and will stand up to the rigors of normal daily use. Colors: shocking blue/black.
