This antique Persian Tabriz carpet has very nice design elements. The branches and leaves look like they are swaying in the breeze. The salmon pink colors are so soft and calming. There are little touches of very light blue that accentuate the rug perfectly. One of the borders has been expertly rewoven. Tabriz, Iran, is one of the oldest rug weaving centers and makes a huge diversity of types of carpets.
This piece comes from Joseph Carini's Private Reserve Collection. On his travels around the world, Carini has curated a collection of fine and rare vintage textiles and rugs. He is enamored by ancient techniques, natural dyes, and cultural symbology.
