About the Item

The Arak province in northern Persia has produced the greatest number of large carpets of any other Persian province. Named for the plain of Fereghan, an area of roughly 1200 square miles to the northeast of Arak, Fereghan rugs and carpets often have full field decorations in classical repeat patterns such as the Herati, Mina Khani, Gol Hennae, and Moustafi. This carpet has an overall Gol Hannae pattern on a midnight blue field, all within a madder palmette and vine border. 13’ 9” x 8' 5".
