About the Item
An antique Persian Fereghan rug from the late 19th century. Narrow ivory reversing fan palmette border discreetly frames the well-abrashed (natural color striation) slate field which is very closely covered by a balanced all-over Herati pattern featuring rosettes with triple horizontal straight extender lines. This is true antique Fereghan from Arak Province in western Persia. The main border has been removed giving the motif an infinite feel with no constraints.
