lthough the impression of this antique Persian rug is subtle from a distance, closer inspection brings a sophisticated color combination and intricacy of artistic skill to the eye. The main field’s brilliance can be traced to the alluring interplay of gorgeous colors and how those colors relate to the refined designs and patterns.
These decorative rug colors are used to enliven the vines, branches, flowers and decals of the design of this magnificent antique large oversized rug. The central field is a vast section saturated with a warm beige hue and decorated with an intricate latticework of fragile vines and voluptuous blooms. The azure gray tone is used in the organically woven branches and vines, whose lovely tips are embellished with unique flowers and florets in shades such as warm cream, minty white and other soft, soothing yet happy neutral color tones.
Several ornate bands form the majestic border that encases this spectacular oversize antique Persian Khorassan carpet. The most prominent of these — which captures the attention of the viewer more than any other detail — is a wide royal blue section with large scale floral adornments in hues of beige and tans. These exotic blooms are arranged in a satisfying symmetry, contrasting intriguingly with the spontaneity of the central field.
