About the Item
This spectacular rug features a central navy field filled to overflowing with floral designs. This is all enclosed by a myriad of borders both guard and main to create a strong visual effect. The skill involved in weaving such a piece the deep navy field has a pattern of wonderful flower heads and smaller floral designs enclosed by a border and two guard borders also with the floral theme. Situated on a large plain, along the south side of the Alborz Mountains between Tehran and Meshad. With so much detail and intricate patterns belies belief. The region of Khorassan is in northeastern Persia, its capital is Meshad one of the most important weaving centers. Measures: 14'0 x 16'8".
