Antique Persian Yazd Rug with Beige-Brown Floral Patterns Rug & Kilim

About the Item

Hand-knotted in wool, this 10x14 antique Persian Yazd rug originating circa 1920-1930, with intricate floral patterns, is a masterpiece from one of the most sought-after weaving traditions in Persian city rugs. On the Design: Ebony black underscores an elaborate, dense all over floral pattern of incredibly fine detail. Though one of its many beauties is the variation and movement of color, keen eyes will note especially present beige/brown and orange tones in the many at play—as well as a notable bright cream among the playful accents that give the floral patterns such a particular compliment. Admirers of the craft will appreciate this as an extremely collectible piece of its period, like few masterpieces with such a personal, intentional look and finesse of any antique, let alone a versatile-sized rug—likely a custom aristocratic commission of its time befitting its regal nature. Keen eyes for detail will admire the attention to detail in its sense of dimension, the play of so many bright and rich colors together, and such a creative use of a more limited palette is praiseworthy in any piece—all the more rare for this weaving tradition. Condition: This antique Persian Yazd rug further enjoys good condition, with even and subdued wear consistent with its age. Ready for the floor.
