This silk and wool vintage, circa 1970, signed Akbaroff Isfahan rug features an ivory field with an overall design of mounted hunting figures, paired animals and animals hunting each other surrounded by flowering plants and trees, in a light grey border with mounted figures, pastoral scenes and washing figures surrounded by animals, flowering shrubs, plants and trees, between burgundy-red polychrome floral and palmette vine and blue bands of meandering palmette vine stripes, an inscription strip at one end reading, "Iran Isfahan Akbaroff". Akbaroff Isfahan rugs are renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship and intricate designs, originating from the historic city of Isfahan, Iran—a center of Persian art and culture.
