Antique Tabriz Carpet, Ivory Field

About the Item

The warm old ivory field displays a brown outlined "Vase carpet" pattern of ragged and petal palmettes detailed in dark brown, rust brown and sand, set on and within a multiplanar leaf and rosette lattice system. Some palmettes are erect while others are tilted. There are no vases, but three vertical rough axes organize the pattern. The sand border shows iris amhora palmettes and ragged and leafy palmettes as well.
