About the Item
A Bijar rug is a hand-woven Persian rug that comes from the city of Bijar in the western part of Iran. This particular Bijar rug has an ivory background with a beautiful all-over geometric floral design. The design is comprised of thin and tight lines in shades of red, pink, light-blue, sky-blue, and black. Despite the tight/busy design, some of the motifs have enough space around them to allow the ivory background to shine through, creating a subtle contrast and depth to the rug.
One of the most striking features of this rug is its intricate and full border. The border uses a red background with motifs in different shades of blue and ivory, creating a beautiful and harmonious color scheme. The border design is also geometric, with various patterns and shapes interweaving to form a complex yet cohesive composition.
