Gabbeh Rug 4'10'' x 6'6''. Wool pile rugs, usually scatter formats, woven by the Qashghai tribes of SW Persia (Fars Province), in moderate weave, uncluttered geometries and unshaded colours. From about 1900 onwards. Now copied by other weavers while retaining informal tribal character.
