Measuring exactly 5'2" x 7', the formal Persian design in this carpet required an extraordinarily fine weave handknotted only by the most skilled artisans. The sensational red and gold tones that provide this piece with its timeless beauty have been derived only from organic vegetable dyes created by expert dyemasters that have passedthe recipes down through generations.
In fact, every aspect of the Orley Shabahang process remains true to those techniques used in the weaving of the fine 19th century Persian antiques revered around the world. Orley Shabahang carpets are still produced entirely by hand with no chemicals used at any point in their production, creating heirloom pieces that will be next generation of fine Persian antiques.
