About the Item
Designed by Swedish textile artist Ingegerd Silow (1916–2005), this handwoven rölakan flatweave rug reflects her distinctive blend of Scandinavian Modern aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship. Executed in wool on a linen warp, the piece dates from the 1960s and demonstrates Silow’s refined sense of geometry, balance, and color.
Though untitled, the design features a central oval medallion framed by a stepped border in soft blue-grey tones, with decorative ribbon motifs in pale rose at the corners. The muted palette and elegant composition make the rug both subtle and striking, embodying the timeless quality of Swedish mid-century textile design.Condition: Very good for its age; professionally cleaned and carefully maintained.
