Ingrid Dessau Flat Weave Swedish rug for Malmöhus Läns Hemslöjd 1960's 211 x 204,5 cm, signed MLH ID Four large sun-like ornaments in a variety of red, pink and orange nuances. An ivory border. Made without fringes. Ingrid Dessau was a renowned Swedish textile designer and weaver who was known for her innovative and modern designs. Her work has been considered important because of the way she broke with traditional rug-making techniques and materials, and introduced new techniques and materials to create modern and functional designs. She was part of the Scandinavian design movement which was characterized by simplicity, functionality and a focus on natural materials. Her rugs are highly sought after and have become collectible items due to their unique design, high quality and lasting beauty. They are considered to be an important example of Swedish modern design and have had a significant influence on the field of textile design.
