This 6x6 custom square rug design represents Swedish style flatweaves in the Scandinavian rug collection by Rug & Kilim.
On the Design:
These photos represent a 6x6 Kilim rug from this collection, handwoven in wool and natural yarns. Its design is inspired by vintage Rollakan and Rya rugs with retro Swedish Deco style geometric patterns. This rug enjoys stripes and triangle patterns in beige-brown, off-white and gray with light blue accents and neutral tones. Keen eyes will admire undyed, natural yarns interwoven for a look of striae and subtle color variation. This proprietary technique of ours both honors mid-century Scandinavian weaving techniques and lends a fabulous look of abrashed colors. The result is a subtle complement to the sense of movement that plays beautifully with this comfortable minimalist look.
Our modern flat weave construction further enjoys a heavier body with greater durability under heavy furniture and high-traffic areas. This represents a comfortable, sophisticated contribution to this mid-century modern style that lends it more versatile design applications today.
