Antique Fine Bijar Carpet
Located in Katonah, NY
Repeating covered field in a phenomenal range of color botehs in staggered rows in alternating direction. Very unusual and unique dynamic for type and age! Colors and shades include: Navy blue, ivory, madder root red, cochineal red, sapphire blue, coffee brown, dusty pale saffron yellow, antique ivory, and more. Condition notes: Even wear across to knot heads with faint foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Couple of small blemishes on the reverse side which does not translate to anything of significance, likely remnants of an old pad. Minor loss to one end and some oxidation to the darker shades which has contributed to slight recess of the pile. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Bijar carpet...
