Art Deco Model 721 Arm Chair by Otto Wagner for J&j Kohn, 1900s
About the Item
Elegant bugholz armrest chair by jacob & josef kohn after a design by otto wagner from the turn of the century. A design piece of early modernity.
A functional design with special material combination. A special feature of this design lies in the use of the then new material plywood, which meets classic beech bowwood here. The elegant turns of the finely carried out armrests, which pass into the backrest in one piece, are striking. The most striking element is the backrest. In particular, the detail of the concave curved plywood plate. With a perforation of large, symmetrical holes, this shows reduced ornamentation. The use of plywood also enables the seat -like execution of the seat. The chair is restored and treated. It is in very good condition with signs of wear and patina. This piece has an attribution mark.
