About the Item

A pair of Chinese hand carved azalea wood root armchair from the late 20th century, priced and sold individually $5,500 each. Created in China during the later years of the 20th century, chair was handcrafted from an actual azalea tree, giving them this warm dark color with red undertone. A bright varnish highlights the exquisite tortuous aspect of the roots. With their stunning organic aspect, these unusual chairs seems to grow from the ground. These Chinese dark azalea wood root chairs will make for great decorative additions to any home, especially placed in a den, office, living room or patio, where their elegant robustness would no doubt add an organic appeal. Two Chinese Qing Dynasty period carved wooden armchairs from the 19th century with hand-carved medallion, priced and sold each. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period, each chair features a carved splat adorned with a hand-carved oval medallion depicting a peony and a bird, perhaps a crane, among openwork foliages. A pair of Chinese hand carved rosewood armchairs from the early 20th century with inset marble splats and dark patina. We currently have two pairs available, price and sold per pair. Possibly used by Chinese aristocrats, these rosewood armchairs delight our eyes with their richly carved structures. Each back is adorned with a skillfully executed décor of foliage, birds and fruits, surrounding a central marble inlaid splat. The foliage motifs are subtly reprised on the open arms in a curling dance. The rectangular framed seat is resting on four cabriole legs, visually connected to one another through a scalloped apron present on three sides.
