Danish Midcentury Lounge Chair with Slat Back Attributed to Edmund Jorgensen
About the Item
Beautiful high quality easy chair, circa late 1940's likely made by Master Carpenter, Edmund Jorgensen of Denmark. The chair is very much in his style although it is not marked and we are not sure of the maker and designer. Very elegant with the tall silhouette and the slatted back. Made form beech that has been stained and varnished. Similar in style to some of Ole Wanscher's designs made for France and Daverkosen around the same period. Very comfortable with coil springs in both seat and backrest. We can Recover in a lambswool fabric that looks and feels like sheepskin and maintain many of the same properties and we can also recover in shearling. Overall very good condition showing only minor wear to the armrests and the fabric as well.
