Early 1900s French Walnut Armchairs, a Pair
About the Item
Found in the South of France, this pair of French Walnut Armchairs were crafted in the early 1900s. Each chair features barrel style arms with a carved narrow seat back. The solid wood trapezoidal shaped seat rest on turned legs flanked by stretchers. These types of chairs called Caqueteuse Chairs originated in France in the early 16th century and were designed as conversation chairs. Today these chairs will make a nice addition to any room as an accent or occasional chair.
