About the Item
Giorgetti "Gallery 1975" Armchairs in Bouclé Upholstery Italy
These pair of two Giorgetti "Gallery 1975" armchairs are a perfect blend of classical and Art Deco styles. Made in Italy during the 1970s, they are part of the famous Gallery collection and have been professionally reupholstered in bouclé fabric. These armchairs are eye-catching and versatile, as they can be used in various interior settings such as living rooms, family rooms, screening rooms, and even in offices. They also suit hospitality or corporate locations, like boutique hotel lobbies, cocktail bars, members' clubs, and luxury boutiques. The wood parts of the chairs have a minor patina but are still in good shape. Luigi Giorgetti founded his carpentry workshop in Meda, Italy 1898, which initially created home decor items for the Milanese nobility. By the 1920s, the workshop had expanded and exported traditional wooden chair frames to the US. The demand from the US surprised them, leading to a streamlined production system that allowed them to create finely crafted furniture in mass quantities and at speed. Today, Giorgetti's products are available in over 85 countries. In the 1970s, the company released its first contemporary collections, including the 'Gallery' and 'Gazebo' chairs. The 'Gazebo' chair featured a ground-breaking carving technique that created a bamboo-like effect on the chair's back, prompting the development of an unusual tooling process still in use today.
