Haga, Gustavian Style Armchair

About the Item

Limited edition reproductions by D. Larsson, inspired by the finest 18th - 19th-century Swedish furniture. HAGA, a fine reproduction Gustavian barrel back armchair is influenced by a Gustavian armchair from our private collection that is attributed to Stockholm master Ephraim Stahl, (1767-1820). Supplier to the Royal Court and one of the most sophisticated and inventive makers of his period. Finished in an authentic antique white color, upholstered in muslin. (picture above shows the chair in a raw linen, Use you local upholsterer or let us help with you with the upholstery for an extra cost) Kiln-dried European beech frame with corner blocks for strength. Handmade by skilled wood-carvers. Cushions are traditionally plumped with a natural coir fiber and cotton for softness with underlying jute webbing support. Buyer acknowledges that our items are fine limited edition reproductions, intended to resemble the real antique and are not meant to look new. Our items are distressed meaning that cracks, chipping, flaking and other imperfections on our products are inherent to the distressing process and cannot be claimed as defects. Original examples rarely come to market and command premium prices. D. Larsson have been building an archive of some of the finest historic designs and educated craftsmen to recreate them in a limited edition of 20 pieces of each model. This will enable us to offer timeless classic Swedish designs in high-quality both individually and multiples. The goal is to safeguard designs and develop, create and showcase high-quality classic Swedish furnishings, informed by our experience and knowledge of unique original examples.
