About the Item

This pair of cabriolet armchairs are constructed with oak frames with an upholstered seat and back, its elegant curves contrasting with its sharp lines. The angled armrests finish in a scroll at the generous seat. Provenance: Originally from the collection of Jean Leleu, Paris Bibliography: The House of Leleu by Françoise Siriex, New York, Hudson Hills Press, 2008, p. 273, for an identical armchair. Leleu 50 ans de mobilier et de decoration, 1920-1970, Somogy éditions d’art, Paris, 2007, 107. The fauteuil mentioned above is in the permanent collection of Musée des Années 30 and at the Musée de la Piscine in Roubaix, France.
