Mid Century Modern vintage armchair or wingback chair from stained rattan by Lio Carminati style Gio Ponti designed circa 1948 Italy and executed 1950s. While the freestanding armchair shows a high wingback for relaxing and reading, the seat has a renewed loose cushion in blue color from textile fabric. Wether your style is traditional, art deco or mid century modern the amazing rattan lounge chair could be the star in your living room. The Italian architect Gio Ponti used this model of armchair for some of the furnishings on the ocean liner Conte Biancamano from 1948-1949. Carlo Mollino photographed the famed erotic portraits while ladies were sitting on this model of rattan armchair. Very good vintage condition Approximate measures: Width 86 cm Depth 85 cm Height 120 cm Seat height 44 cm.
