About the Item
Pair 19th Century French Louis XIV Gilded Armchairs will add regal elegance to any room! Bold Baroque styling has been hand-carved into the framework which was then given a gold finish which has achieved an amazing distressed patina that is soft and pleasing to the eye. Carved detail emphasizes shell and acanthus plume motifs to an incredible degree of artistry! Note the particular attention paid to the seat back crown with a bold Florentine crest motif lavished with foliate sprays top the boldly arched framework. The armrests are particularly stunning with an extraordinarily deep scroll design adorned with foliate plumes and bell flowers. The apron in front was carved to complement the seat back crown with aplomb. Ready to upholster in your preferred fabric!
