About the Item

A gorgeous pair of large 19th Century French 'bergeres' or armchairs. Carved wooden frames and upholstered in the stylish 'deconstructed' manner. With the backs and armrests covered with old French blue and white checked fabric. While the fronts have been left with the stitched hessian and a nice squashy seat cushion - style and comfort combined - the best! Circa 1860.
