About the Item
A Pair of Antique Louis XV style Fauteuils à la Reine, 19th century. The handsome pair of arm chairs areupholstered with Fortuny cotton damask “Demidici” yellow & white fabric. The beech wood frame is elaborately carved with beaded edges, scrolls and pimpernel blossoms at the seat skirt and top rail. The wood finish would have been painted overall and some of this original pigment remains of an ecru hew. The curving lines of the chair are complimented by cabriole legs and arms. The arms are complete with upholstered manchettes.
Condition: Signs of wear and age, one small embroidered repair to the front right corner on one seat, otherwise the set in very good condition.
