About the Item

A Pair of Elegant Empire Armchairs with Beautifully Preserved Patina. This pair of Empire armchairs is crafted from solid birch, featuring rectangular inlays in darker mahogany on the backrests and aprons. The chairs are adorned with intricate marquetry in both light and dark woods, forming delicate garlands along the top rail of the backrests and the aprons beneath the seats. The centerpiece of each backrest showcases an elegant inlaid design of an urn-shaped vase set on an imitation brick pedestal. The loose cushions have been newly upholstered in ivory-colored linen from Manuel Canovas, adding a touch of refined elegance. A truly stunning pair of armchairs. Denmark, Copenhagen, circa 1810.
