About the Item

This rare pair of armchairs was designed by Eva and Nils Koppel and produced by Slagelse Møbelværk in Denmark, 1950s. This striking pair consists of a high back armchair and the same model with a lower back. The design is marked by the tiered levels from the backrest to the armrest and finally the seat. The rounded shapes and flowing lines give the chair a modern and elegant feel. The slightly club-shaped legs are fully visible, embracing the seat. The legs and frame are in solid stained beech wood. The chairs have been upholstered in a refined ivory wool and linen fabric with a structured texture. The buttoned back and leather piping complete the design.
