Pair Of French 19th Century Empire St. Mahogany And Ormolu Armchairs
About the Item
A handsome and finely detailed pair of French 19th century Empire st. Mahogany and Ormolu armchairs. The armchairs are raised by four square and gently curved legs with Ormolu pawed feet on the front legs. The straight front apron has five Ormolu stars with two single stars on the left and right side. Leading up from the front legs to the hand rests, the arm supports are decorated by Ormolu palmettes on the front and outside panels with Ormolu rosettes on all sides of the Mahogany hand rest. The upholstered reeded arm supports lead up to the back rests with edges decorated by brass nails and three sets of crossed Ormolu bands.
