Pair of French Mid 19th Century Empire St. Mahogany and Ormolu Mounted Armchair
About the Item
A handsome pair of French mid 19th century Empire st. mahogany and ormolu mounted armchairs. The pair are raised by front square tapered legs that have pawed ormolu feet with a rosette and pierced palmette below a richly chased caryatids at the top. The curved front apron is decorated by elegant palmette ormolu mounts. Wonderful and rich patina throughout.
