This is a beautiful antique giltwood armchair, in the fabulous Regency style, and early 20th century in date. The gilded chair has been beautifully carved with reeded lines and medallion plaques. The arms and supports scroll out in exaggerated curves which support the lime green upholstered back and seat. Add a touch of class to your home with this exceptional antique armchair. Condition: In excellent condition having been beautifully restored and reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation. Dimensions in cm: Height 73 x width 60 x depth 49. Dimensions in inches: Height 2 feet, 5 inches x width 2 feet x depth 1 foot, 7 inches. Regency Furniture. During the Regency period it was fashionable to copy the classical furniture of the Roman and Greek times. Furniture had stopped evolving in design and had moved back to classical forms. The Pioneer designers who represented this period were: Thomas Hope (1770-1831), George Smith (1804-28), Henry Holland (1745-1806)c George IV had a major influence over the furniture makers of the time.
