About the Item

“ Regina ” armchair and Ottoman “Junior ” -  Raw wood and orange suede armchair , hand finished.???The message that Mirabili intends to portay involves well-known artist and designers, selected for their particular gifts and their poetic world, lending an innovative and sensitive contribution to the cultural image of the habitat as “Art of Living”.? It is a collection which wants to communicate with art, by means of visions and emotions: a quality that justifies its meaningful presence in museums, art galleries and in collections of qualified collectors.? Urano Palma was an artist. Urano Palma was born in 1936 and died in 2010. Born in 1936, Urano Palma's creative work was largely influenced by the 1950s. Abstract Expressionism prevailed in the 1950s as a primary method of painting, and explored ideas about the sublime and spirituality. Artists endeavoured to focus on painting’s formal properties, and Action Painting took inspiration from the political freedoms of the United States, in opposition to the strictures of the Soviet bloc. During the Post War period, New York City became the international focus for Modernism. Throughout the Second World War, many artists had travelled to the city after having fled in exile from Europe, which resulted in a merging and amalgamation of abilities and ideas. Whilst in New York, influential Europeans such as Piet Mondrian, Josef Albers and Hans Hoffmann provided inspiration for American artists, and influenced cultural growth in the United States for many decades that followed. Influential artists of this period included Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Frank Kline, Barnett Newman, Clyfford Still and Adolph Gottlieb. In subsequent revisions, the contributions and efforts of female artists such as Lee Krasner, Joan Mitchell, and Louise Bourgeois have been recognised, amongst many other female creatives. ?Dimensions:  Armchair D: 96cm W: 96cm H: 105cm Seat hight: 48cm Ottoman D: 57cm W: 104cm H: 42cm.
