About the Item

The ‘Tupa’ armchair was designed by Reino Ruokolainen whilst working as the artistic director for Haimi. Haimi specialized in manufacturing modern, high-quality furniture and was one of the best-known furniture companies at the time in Finland. During his time with Haimi, Ruokolainen mostly made wooden furniture in the Finnish mid-century style. For this specific armchair, he chose to work with an oak frame, which has acquired a nice patina and slight wear over the years. The cushions have been reupholstered in white bouclé fabric. Underneath the chair the manufacturers mark can be found.
