About the Item

A very rare and fine 19th Century well figured, richly patinated elm and pine Gothic armchair of exceptional quality. The fabulously hand carved, ornate and decorative top rail is raised over a shaped and pierced catherdral arched shaped open backsplat above shaped seat with beautiful carved detail to the sides, flanked with lovely downward swept outscrolling arms, above an elegantly simple frieze and square leg, conjoined with stretcher.
