Victorian Designer E W Godwin Aesthetic Movement Jappaned Abstract Elbow Chair

About the Item

A Rare E W Godwin Aesthetic Movement Jappaned Low Elbow Arm Chair With Anglo Japonesque Geometric Back On Hand Turned Legs Auctioneer has given attribution. Victorian architect-designer E. W. Godwin (1833–1886), tying himself neither morally nor aesthetically to a single style, approached design with what he called "judicious eclecticism."
