About the Item
Elegant and finely detailed, this early 20th-century French piano bench is crafted in the Louis XV style and showcases the graceful curves and ornate carvings typical of the period. The carved wood frame features a shaped apron, cabriole legs, and intricate floral and acanthus motifs, all enhanced by a soft bleached finish with hand-applied gilt accents that highlight the sculptural elements.
The seat and double ends are hand-caned, creating a light and refined profile while remaining sturdy and comfortable. The curved open sides, each with a stylized cartouche-shaped backrest, give the bench a charming and romantic silhouette, perfect for use as a vanity bench, window seat, or in front of a grand piano.
In excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a warm, timeworn patina to both the finish and gilt details. The cane remains tight and in beautiful condition.
