About the Item

A high quality and most elegant Italian 19th century Louis XV st. patinated wood and Mecca bench. This impressive bench is raised on four cabriole patinated off-white legs accented with Mecca scrolls. The front and both side aprons display gently scrolled Mecca edges with a straight Mecca upper band below the upholstered seat.

Each bench is raised by elegant and most decorative X shaped supports with fine scrolled feet with acanthus leaves and beautiful mottled designs. At the center are stunning reserves of richly carved scrolled foliate designs and unique movements encasing a charming finely detailed seashell. The supports are connected by a beautiful scrolled stretcher decorated in a similar manner with delicate mottled designs and a superb central floral seashell like reserve. Upholstered in a faux leopard skin fabric.
