About the Item
This elegant pair of Louis XVI style painted wood benches was crafted in northern France circa 1980. Each bench stands on finely carved, tapered and fluted legs decorated with floral motifs at the shoulders. The benches are dressed with over curved armrests and are uniquely upholstered with complementary fabrics, one features a blue and white foliage design, while the other showcases a pattern of gray stripes with a white and flower pattern. The benches are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich patinated painted finish in a soft creme and blue palette. Charming and versatile, these benches would make elegant additions to a master bathroom as vanity seating, serve beautifully as piano benches, or add character and function to a mudroom or entryway.
