Willow Bench by OK Design

A subtle combination of a metal frame, an ash-veneered lid, and a natural willow basket, defines the wicker bench. The lid opens up like a picnic basket and the basket functions as a storage space.
The Willow basket is manufactured in the South Eastern regions of Poland where the wicker craft is still practiced and the conditions for growing Willow are ideal. The lid in natural ash veneer is crafted in Denmark. The metal frame is available in a black or white powder coating.
Traditionally the storage benches were used in the kitchen, the dining room, or living room. But this edition is also ideal for the bedroom or in the hallway or even as a coffee table.
OK Design was founded by the Danish couple: Jacob Fasting and Kirsten Krogh. Jacob began his entrepreneurial life by founding the first bicycle courier company in Mexico City. Later his adventurous spirit led him down a new, creative path together with the architect Kirsten Krogh.
Kirsten and Jacob initiated their success in Europe by introducing the traditional woven furniture from Mexico. Today they create in-house furniture as well as work in collaboration with international designers.
OK Design is based in Copenhagen, the environmentally friendly production takes place in the EU, and the designs are sold in more than 40 countries worldwide.
Their latest endeavour is Stella Atlántico in Isla de la Palma. A 4 floor building reaching towards the stars and located on the rim of the world’s largest erosion crater. Stella Atlántico functions as a combined visual showroom and holiday home.
