About the Item

1950's Original Tolix Model A Dining Outdoor Chairs - Large Quantities Available. Tolix is one of our all time favourite companies. In 1907 Frenchman Xavier Pauchard discovered that he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc (galvanisation) and a few years later he set up his factory producing steel furniture. Tolix was the creator and founder of perhaps the most iconic cafe chair of all time, the Tolix model A, designed in 1934 and sadly now copied worldwide. We have a large batch of original A chairs in great condition, originally the chairs were painted yellow and they have at some stage been overpainted in a stunning sea blue allowing hints of the original yellow to pop through. Stunning chairs full of character. Seat height: 44cm Workshop Report: Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
