About the Item

Handmade throne Cuneo Gotico by Le Meduse Unique piece Dimensions: W 175, D 50, H 185 cm Materials: Boxwood, acacia wood, shellac. Created for the 2016 Fantastic Arts exhibition now at the civic museum permanent of Cuneo. Burnt boxwood branches, and shellac. Single piece. Each model is unique because it is handmade, it can be reproduced in a similar but not identical way. Request customization. Each model is part of a limited edition collection. I am the son of the economic boom of the 1960s and since I was a child I was attracted to waste materials such as car demolitions and there was a strong desire to transform them into completely new objects such as tables, bookcases, lamps. I have always liked to experiment with any material from wood to ceramic, from iron to glass with my hands and find harmony in the shapes, try new processing techniques. This is how the Le Meduse project was born in 1993, light sculptures made only of waste glass and light, which travel around the world. My mantra is, to experiment and play with (possibly waste) materials and be inspired by the shapes, structures and colors of nature. True happiness comes from the enthusiasm to create new things. Antoine de Saint Exupery.

Cadeira Chair by Macheia
Located in Geneve, CH
Cadeira Chair by Macheia Handmade In Portugal. Dimensions: D 45 x W 45 x H 88 cm. Materials: Natural dried bulrush and galvanized iron. The chair’s concept is rooted in the notion that every spiral starts around a hand. The hole, the imprint of the creator’s hand, is here highlighted by the organically shaped metal back, pointing out where the chair begins. The rhythm of the metal elements of the chair is set by the stitches from the technique. The technique is seen through a new lens, raw and exposed, bringing it closer to its identity as a plant. The Collection zooms in the Bunho technique - a unique portuguese basketry technique that shapes the natural fiber Bulrush (Schoenoplectrus Palla), into a intricate mesh of knots and stitches. Nowadays, the Bunho technique is kept by the hands and know-how of only two artisans in Europe, One of them is Manuel Ferreira...
