About the Item

The Hotel Chair by José Zanine Caldas (1919–2001) is a timeless piece designed in the 1980s for a hotel in Serra Capixaba, Brazil. Originally crafted using reforested wood from the region, it has been reissued by 31 Mobiliário in cumaru, a Brazilian hardwood prized for its durability and rich, natural tones. The chair features clean, angular cuts and thick, squared proportions, showcasing a minimalist yet robust aesthetic. This design embodies Zanine’s philosophy of harmonizing functionality with sustainable practices, reflecting his deep respect for Brazilian materials and craftsmanship. The reedition preserves the original concept while adapting it for contemporary interiors, making the Hotel Chair both a tribute to vintage Brazilian design and a statement of modern elegance. The chair includes a signed, numbered certificate of authenticity, confirming its original and collectible value.

Banco Onda - 1996 Reissue, Limited Edition - Edition of 83, by Ruy Ohtake
Located in Belo Horizonte, BR
Authorized and numbered reissue, originally designed in 1996, limited to 83 units - the age of the author. Ruy Ohtake (1938-2021), one of Brazil’s most important architects, transitioned from concrete to steel in his furniture designs, emphasizing structural independence. The Banco Onda exemplifies this shift, where Ohtake used fluid, organic curves enabled by laminated steel, offering high strength with minimal thickness. This approach allowed the architect to achieve a distinctive visual lightness, giving the impression that the bench is floating or barely touching the ground. The design maintains a sense of effortless elegance, reflecting Ohtake’s commitment to innovation. Through this piece, he preserved the unique and forward-thinking aesthetic that became a hallmark of his distinguished career. This reissue of the Onda Stool...

Ode chair by Sizar Alexis Signed and Numered Edition of 12 Dimensions: Length 45 x width 55 x height 74 cm Materials: Burned pine wood The hexagon has more to it than we think, and some of the aspects of this shape are still mysterious. The series is an ode to the aesthetics that I fell in love with in a geometrical sculptural works of art and the interesting perfect form of the historical hexagon. It's fascinating how hexagons are part of our life but fail to realize this. It all comes down to the element that is present throughout our body, and that is carbon. The use of the form dates back to ancient mesopotamia...
