Japanese Hand Carved Dark Wood Export Monkey Armchair
About the Item
Japanese hand carved dark wood export monkey armchair, circa 1940s. This antique Japanese armchair is intricately carved with the chair back depicting tree branches with monkeys. The chair has exceptional detail with monkey heads as arms with inlaid eyes; the seat is a lighter stained wood making a nice two-tone contrast.
Dimensions: 20" D x 27" W x 48" H. The wood is probably mahogany, but I am not positive; a very cool and unique piece that will be a conversation starter in any room! #1281.
