About the Item

Scandinavian wooden barrel chair made in the 19th century. A circular, beautifully wooden chair with patina and soft edges hollowed out from a naturally formed tree trunk. It has an organic, natural shape almost like a draped cloth. The appearance of this particular piece is created by the fact that it's made from the base of a pine tree. Evidence of hand hewing is visible throughout the chair and as expected, there are cracks in the body resulting from expansion and contraction of the wood over the decades of its existence in various environments.
