About the Item
The Wapiti Chair by Erickson Woodworking is a sensuous, extremely comfortable, fully sculpted piece of seating that can be used as either an occasional chair or a dining chair. Every curve and angle on the Wapiti Chair has been carved by hand by either Robert or Tor Erickson in their woodworking studio in Northern California, and is designed to be experienced both through viewing and touch.
This chair is remarkably light and, due to it's forking, antler-like design, very strong as well.
With pieces in the Smithsonian's Museum of American Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Yale University Art Gallery, Erickson Woodworking brings in elements of mid-century modern, California craftsman, and modern sculpture in a way that are uniquely its own.6
